When September began, I saw it declared, on TikTok, the “Great Lock-In of 2025.” The idea? Pour all my energy into this little ecosystem—blog, books, podcast, shop, and all the wild branches Dreamspace wants to grow. No more chasing distractions. No more “maybe later.” Just showing up, every day, and seeing what would happen if I really went all in.
Now, with the first month behind me, here’s the truth: Locking in didn’t mean locking myself away. In fact, one of the best things I did was step out for a week—family time in Provincetown, where the salt air, queer art, and laughter did more for my creative energy than a thousand productivity hacks ever could. That wasn’t a setback; it was self-care. It was part of the Lock-In. Because real growth isn’t just about hustling harder—it’s about nurturing all the parts of your life that make the work possible in the first place.
Business-wise:
Even with that break, we almost doubled our viewership and visitors. (No numbers here; just know that the trendline looks good.) We’re writing better posts, weaving SEO magic into the roots without sacrificing meaning. We’ve found the balance—making Google happy and writing for real people who come back because the words actually matter.
Personally:
The creative well is full again. Burnout, for now, is at bay. The routines are tighter, but there’s room for rest, sunlight, bike rides, and the occasional unhinged Taylor Swift listening party. Lock-in isn’t about never leaving my desk; it’s about putting my energy where it feeds me (and hopefully, you).
October & What’s Next: New Branches, Old Roots
If September was for digging deep, October is for reaching out and setting new buds. Here’s what’s coming up in the Dreamspace:
The Forum
We’re going old-school: launching a bulletin board (not a Discord) for true connection. Slow conversations, creative threads, real community—the kind of internet space I grew up on, and maybe you did too.
Ko-fi Shop & Donations
We’re moving the shop and donations over to Ko-fi. WooCommerce was a clunky fit for digital things; Ko-fi feels light, easy, and friendly. You’ll find printables, micro-guides, mugs, books, and a tip jar all in one spot. If you want to support the Dreamspace, it’s now a lot simpler (and a little cuter).
Books & Writing
Volume 3 of Dreamspace Chronicles is in progress! We’re aiming to finish chapters 12–15 this fall and wrap up this part of Allison’s journey. (Thank you for reading along—slow publishing is my jam, and I love doing it this way.)
Podcast: Season Wrap
Only one episode left this season! Episode 12 will be out in early November, then we’re pausing for winter. But something fun and festive is brewing for December… and you know I love a surprise.
Dreamspace Sparks, Vol. 2
Submissions are open for the next issue—poetry, prose, short stories, art, autumnal and magical themes welcome. The next issue will drop once we gather enough gems. Submit if you feel called!
Learning & Soulwork
With the podcast going quiet, I’m focusing on learning (SEO, creative biz, new tools) and reconnecting with my spiritual practices—more journaling, more rituals, more Dreamspace magic.
It sounds like a lot, but everything fits. Each project feeds the others. The branches support the tree. There’s space for work, for rest, and for delight.
Thanks for being part of this journey—growing, changing, sometimes quietly, but always with heart. Here’s to October, and to the fruit we’ll bear when the season is right.
