“Please Generate Original Non-Generated Generated Content”
Ah, Upwork. Land of opportunity. Land of dreams. Land of… whatever this is.
So here’s the pitch, folks:
“Please generate content for the following blog topics. I’ve provided links for reference, but do not duplicate any content. I check for plagiarism and AI writing tools. Blogs must be at least 450 words. Open all links in an incognito window.”
Budget: $150.00 total for 15 blogs.
Ah, yes. Fifteen blogs. Four hundred and fifty words each. Roughly 6,750 words total. Ten dollars per blog. And we’re just getting started.
🚨 Contradiction Alert 🚨
“Please generate content.”
But also:
“Absolutely no AI. No generators allowed. Handcraft me this bespoke content using only your bare hands, tears, and maybe a quill pen carved from your own despair.”
Sir. What exactly do you think “generate” means?
If you want a writer, hire a writer. If you want a generator, feed the robots. But you don’t get to demand the Sistine Chapel in MLA format for $10 and a sandwich coupon while also banning paint, brushes, and Michelangelo’s ladders.
The Math Crime
$150 ÷ 15 blogs = $10 each.
Now subtract:
- Research time for 15 topics
- Opening links in a secret incognito bunker because apparently that matters
- Crafting plagiarism-free, SEO-friendly prose that somehow sounds “natural” and “human” but definitely not “generated”
Congratulations! You’ve just offered negative wages. I hope exposure pays the rent.
The Real Kicker
You want “generated” content, but you’ll be running it through the “Is this AI?” sniff test like a suspicious Victorian aristocrat testing the silverware for poison.
Meanwhile, out here in reality, I’m a writer. I don’t generate. I write. Sometimes, yes, there’s brainstorming, dictation, drafts, edits, a little spark of inspiration while walking the potato-with-legs (hi Monet 👋). But this? This is handwoven, artisan prose made from scratch. And you want to buy it wholesale from the clearance rack.
Final Verdict: Nope.
This job post is a Schrödinger’s Cat of content creation: it both wants generated blogs and forbids generation entirely. I’m sure there’s a quantum physicist somewhere who could diagram this paradox on a whiteboard. I, however, will be over here drinking my coffee and writing actual words for people who understand what that means.
