This week has focused on boundaries. We’ve explored how to set them and how to keep them. We’ve also learned how to survive the pushback when we do. For our Friday creative piece, we’re ending the week with something powerful and poetic. This is a reminder that “No” isn’t something to fear—it’s something to wield. It’s a protective word. It is a sacred act. It is a necessary spell for survival. This is especially true in a world that often demands too much. Let this piece be your invocation.
No is not a wall.
Locked tight by iron chains and locks,
Charmed by the whisper of ancestors who knew how to survive.
It is holy.
A salve.
A shield.
It is the candle you light to keep your house from burning.
No is not selfish.
It is sacred geometry.
A circle drawn in salt— This space is mine.
You may not cross.
No is not the absence of care.
It is care distilled.
Not everything deserves your yes.
Not everyone is owed your fire.
No is not weakness.
It is an incantation of power.
The storm refused entry.
The chaos denied purchase.
Spoken softly,
Held firmly,
Grown stronger with each casting.
Say it.
Let it echo.
Let it protect.
