Hey Dreamspace villagers, it’s Felipe—the sparkliest armadillo this side of the blogosphere!
Ever pour your heart into a post, hit “publish,” and…crickets? You know your words matter, but it feels like you’re whispering into the void. Here’s a secret: half the battle is making sure Google even knows you exist. If you’re invisible to search engines, it’s not you—it’s your blog’s settings (and maybe a missing step or two).
But you don’t need a tech degree or expensive tools. Here’s how any regular human (or sparkly armadillo) can check if your site is showing up—and what to do if it isn’t:
1. Check Your Indexing With a Simple Search
Type this into Google:site:yourblogdomain.com
Example: site:dreamspacestudio.net
If you see a bunch of your blog’s pages pop up, congrats—Google has found you! If not, don’t panic. It just means you have a few steps to take.
2. Make Sure Your Site Isn’t “Hidden”
Log into your blog’s backend.
- On WordPress: Go to Settings > Reading and make sure the box for “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” is unchecked.
- On other platforms, look for similar “privacy” or “visibility” settings.
3. Sign Up For Google Search Console (It’s Free!)
- Go to Google Search Console and add your website.
- Follow the steps to verify you own it (usually copy-paste a code or use your hosting login).
- Once you’re in, you’ll see if Google is crawling your site, and can even request indexing if something’s missing.
4. Sitemap? Yes, Please.
- Most blogs automatically create a sitemap (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, etc.).
- On WordPress, it’s usually at
yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml. - Add your sitemap to Google Search Console under “Sitemaps.”
- This helps Google find all your pages faster.
5. What If Nothing Is Working?
- Make sure your blog isn’t brand new (can take a week or two).
- Remove any “noindex” tags (in advanced settings or plugins—ask for help if you need!).
- Sometimes it just takes time. Keep publishing, and check again in a week.
Felipe’s Final Wisdom:
Don’t let jargon or “insider knowledge” stop you. The best SEO is just knowing what to check, not knowing every buzzword.
Your voice deserves to be heard—and it absolutely can be, with a few clicks and a little persistence.

TL;DR:
- Type
site:yourblogdomain.cominto Google to see if you’re indexed. - Check your blog isn’t “hidden” in settings.

- Submit your sitemap.
- Don’t panic if you’re not found yet—just keep going!
You don’t need a course or a consultant to get started. Do they help? Yes! They can be expensive and many of us are on a very tight budget these days and can’t afford right now, me included. Instead, you need a spark of encouragement and a few easy steps. Your story matters. Get it out there.
