This week, as I wrapped up Chapters 12, 13, and 14 of Dreamspace Chronicles: Allison’s Awakening (Volume 2 &3, coming soon), I felt a wave of anticipation and creative electricity—something I can only compare to the feeling of waiting for a long-awaited album to drop. The ritual of anticipation—opening the sleeve, setting the record, waiting for that first note—captures exactly where I am with this story right now.
These chapters are a genuine turning point for the book. The worldbuilding is done, the groundwork is set, and the story is finally tipping from the familiar into the unknown—mundane routines giving way to chaos, mystery, and revelation. There’s this exhilarating tension in the air, and as a writer, I’m just along for the ride.
If you’ve ever felt your project “come alive” and start running ahead of you, you’ll get it. The process is a bit wild: I see everything like a movie in my head—dialogue, scene shifts, unexpected sparks. I just try to catch it all on the page and then (eventually) turn the chaos into something readable and real.
If you follow this series, I hope you feel some of that excitement too—like you’re climbing with me, cresting a hill before the story’s big leap. And, as usual, music is my co-conspirator:
Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road…
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go.
So make the best of this test and don’t ask why…
It’s not a question, but a lesson learned in time.
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day has been the unofficial soundtrack for this stretch of writing—every pivot, every revelation.
Thank you for being here—whether you’re following every chapter, dropping in for the music, or just passing by. Here’s to all the turning points, the chaos, and the quiet thrill of creative anticipation.
