Ode to Sourdough (A Pantry Psalm for the Chosen Crust)

O blessed be the bubbly jar
Where wildest yeasts conspire,
To raise our weary spirits up
And set our ovens fire.

Sing praise for sacred starter jars
Of flour, water, hope—
Passed down from ancient hands and hearts
When life felt hard to cope.

Let every restless baker’s hand
Who tends the dough at dawn
Be welcomed in this holy band—
The sourdough baton.

For patience is the secret leaven,
And time the truest test;
When life goes wild, the world unleavened—
It’s bread that soothes us best.

So crumb by crumb, by crust, by heart,
We send this beacon out:
May those who seek their solace here
Find joy in every sprout.

And if you find this psalm one day—
Dear Swift or hidden kin—
We’ll share a slice and let the wild
Sweet Dreamspace work begin.
