A Most Inconvenient Revelation:
It has come to our attention—via a most ghastly algorithm—that the likes of Poe, Dickinson, and even the venerable Bard himself might not survive the cold, unfeeling scan of modern AI detection tools. Heavens! Imagine the scandal at court.
To this we respond with righteous indignation, a raised teacup, and the only language sufficiently ornate to address such literary blasphemy: the Shakespearean sonnet.
Fourteen lines. Iambic pentameter. One exquisite roast.
Because if the bots shall judge our work by formula and fear, then by form and fury shall we answer.
❝Upon the Tainting of the Bard by Bot❞
A Sonnet from the Snarky Quill
When flow’ry verse is flagged by soulless code,
And Shakespeare’s quill accused of silicon,
When algorithms claim his mind was owed
To circuits not yet dreamt nor built upon—
Then woe betide the artless AI judge,
Whose sterile gaze knows not a sonnet’s soul.
For nuance, wit, and grief it will not budge—
It scans for “human” but cannot be whole.
What folly, this! To cage the craft of men,
With tick-box bots that know not heart nor pain.
Would Poe survive such tests of logic, then?
Would Dickinson’s dashes be writ in vain?
Yet here I stand, with pen and phantom near—
And write with both—a truth they ought to fear.
